Due to the continued expansion at Kent Stainless we have vacancies for experienced and trainee machine operators. These roles provide an opportunity for the right candidates to join our material processing team and operate the following machines. Flat bed lasers cutters, tube laser cutter, brake press, CNC milling, turning, robotic welding and other general metal processing machines.

What you will do:

• Program and set up CNC brake press machines for various production runs, selecting and installing the correct tooling (e.g., punches and dies) and adjusting machine settings for optimal performance.
• Load and align sheet metal accurately, ensuring materials are properly secured for processing.
• Monitor the bending process and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet exact specifications.
• Identify and resolve any issues with the machine or the production process, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on CNC brake press machine.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications / Competencies you should have for trainee roles:

• For entry level trainees or if you have no experience and would like to develop these skills, we offer an excellent training program that will enable the right candidates to gain the skill necessary to operate machines to a very high standard.
• Ability to adhere to safe working practice and have a good safety attitude.
• Ability to work with senior members of the team to learn on the job to progress your skills.
• Open and can-do attitude with a passion for learning.
• Willingness to work hard and take off site courses when needed.
• Excellent communication skills
• Available to work 6am – 2pm / 12pm – 8pm rotating on a weekly basis

Qualifications / Competencies you should have for experienced roles:

• 3 years’ experience in a metal manufacturing environment
• Excellent computer literacy essential.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and CNC programming.
• Ability to adhere to good environmental practices in a Lean and 5S focused organisation.
• Ability to produce parts with a high degree of precision and quality.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to adhere to safe working practice and have a good safety attitude
• Day shift work (6am – 2pm / 12pm – 8pm rotating on a weekly basis)

Preferable experience and skills

• Experience with Trutops and Solid Works
• Working knowledge of other metal processing equipment such as CNC lasers/CNC saws and CNC milling machines would be an advantage but not essential.
• Forklift license would be an advantage but not essential.
