Position Overview:
As the Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the regulatory Compliance of our home and motor insurance operations. You will report directly to the Head of Compliance locally in Ireland.
Your role will have a specific focus on operational compliance driving the effectiveness of the Compliance Framework and delivery of the annual Compliance Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and oversee robust frameworks for fitness and probity, minimum competency, and individual accountability, tailored to the specific needs of the Company.
- Conduct thorough assessments of needs to assist in and contribute to the design of processes and systems of work to identify gaps and recommend improvements to meet regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of compliance frameworks into operational processes, fostering a culture of compliance at all levels.
- Lead efforts to develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff understanding and awareness of regulatory requirements, focusing on key areas such as fitness and probity and minimum competency.
- Stay updated with evolving regulatory guidelines, directives, and industry best practices related to industry compliance and contribute to the updating of frameworks accordingly.
- Establish and execute a comprehensive monitoring program specific to fitness, competency and ensure obligations are met and any non-compliance issues are escalated.
- Contribute to periodic reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of frameworks and their implementation, making necessary recommendations for adjustments as required.
- Support the Head of Compliance in the effective delivery of the annual Compliance Plan and maintain a strong presence in the Company to ensure the ongoing delivery and enforcement of a strong and robust Compliance culture.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years working within the Compliance, Audit or Risk team of a Consumer-serving Irish regulated Insurance (preferred) or Financial Services entity.
- In depth working knowledge of the Insurance Regulatory Framework in Ireland, with specific and relevant experience with the F&P Standards and Minimum Competency Code
- You will be able to demonstrate good understanding of the Individual Accountability Framework.
- Professional Insurance Qualifications to minimum APA level required.
- Progression towards LCOI Qualifications a plus.
- University Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline a plus
- Strong understanding of the broader regulatory landscape and its implications for insurance operations.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations to practical situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively liaising with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the design and/or adaptation of compliance frameworks, monitor adherence, and drive continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in using compliance management software and tools including Microsoft office.
