We are seeking to appoint a Compliance and Risk Officer, a strong and capable individual to bring additional insight, knowledge and support to the Compliance Function and the Risk Function. The Compliance and Risk Officer will split their time across the Compliance Function and Risk Function and work to continue the implementation and embedding of the compliance and risk management frameworks within Drivalia Ireland.
The Compliance and Risk Officer will have a day-to-day reporting line directly to the Head of Compliance in Drivalia Ireland and will also have a reporting line to the appointed Head of Risk of Drivalia Ireland which is held within Group.
The role is a Control Function (CF) and the candidate will be required to meet the fitness and probity requirements of the Central Bank of Ireland, prior to a job offer and on and an ongoing basis, as the role will entail regulatory compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head of Compliance and the Head of Risk to ensure the Company has the appropriate frameworks in place to identify, monitor and report the risks (including compliance risks) to which it is or might be exposed
- Support Head of Compliance in ensuring the Company meets all applicable regulatory requirements, including those applicable to Drivalia as a Central Bank of Ireland authorised Retail Credit Firm
- Support the Head of Compliance in his/her role as Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the Company to ensure compliance with AML/CFT requirements
- Support the Head of Compliance in his/her role as Data Protection Officer for the Company to ensure compliance with GDPR requirements
- Support the monitoring of emerging compliance regulations, performing gap analysis, and support the business in preparing for successful adoption
- Support the implementation of the annual risk-based Compliance Monitoring Plan and Risk Monitoring Plan
- Coordinate the completion of annual compliance and risk assessments
- Interact with Group Compliance Function and Group Risk Function to ensure alignment to the Group compliance and risk frameworks, ensuring on time delivery of all Group compliance and risk activities and reporting
- Support the delivery of compliance and risk training and awareness programme(s)
- Facilitate the holding of monthly Management Risk and Compliance Committee
- Facilitate the holding of quarterly Management Internal Control Committee
- Support the delivery of Head of Compliance and Head of Risk reporting to the Board of Directors
- Support and build key relationships across the business to ensure that Departments are aware of new and existing internal and external regulations/control frameworks
- Support the delivery of risk and compliance projects as may be required
- 3+ years compliance and/or risk experience in a financial service company regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland
- Experience in retail credit and/or motor leasing products and knowledge /understanding of the Consumer Protection Code, would be a distinct advantage
- Strong technical understanding of risk, compliance, and regulatory practices in Ireland. Experience working in AML/KYC and/or GDPR/Data Protection is desirable
- Experience in monitoring and testing of internal controls
- Third level education/ACOI qualified and/or similar risk qualification
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work autonomously and under own initiative to achieve results
- Analytical thinker who can challenge information in a constructive manner
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
