We are looking for an Experience Manager & Designer (Manager level) to join our EY wavespace Dublin Team. The successful candidate will be pivotal to our team as we continue to grow and develop our offerings. As an EY wavespace Experience Facilitator and Designer you will apply emerging human-centered design methods and the EY wavespace experience design framework to design and deliver exceptional client experiences. The Experience Manager & Designer is responsible for working with EY and client teams to understand desired outcomes, and design an immersive, collaborative experience to achieve those results. Innovation sessions can be virtual, in person, or a mix of both. Key responsibilities include designing and facilitating interactive and impactful client experiences, planning and managing multiple projects at any one time, ensuring a high-quality seamless experience that engages all participants, developing relationships with and providing proactive support to selected focus accounts, and being active in the EY wavespace global network.
Your key responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with senior internal and external stakeholders in designing EY wavespace experiences to help solve complex transformational challenges
- Manage the end-to-end experience design and delivery process including requirements gathering, planning, co-design, delivery, facilitation, QA and debriefing
- This role has supervisory responsibilities for more junior EY wavespace individuals
- Responsibility for coaching EY wavespace junior members on presentation and collaboration best practices and will be expected to inspire others through action.
- Act as liaison with the Experience Leader and the other members of the experience team.
- Make decisions and overcome obstacles with minimal supervision.
- Understand client challenges and needs and translate them into clear objectives.
- Transfer EY’s and client’s objectives into the design of the experience, ensuring that outcomes and outputs are aligned to the desired goals and are met to the highest expected standards.
- Design compelling agenda’s, facilitating the client and the EY teams to integrate their knowledge and expertise into them.
- Activity ideation and board creation and design (Mural/Miro) and materials preparation.
- Coordination of session logistics and resources, ensuring all key elements are in place, all activities are planned, all material and supplies are available.
- After the experience, writing up the session outcome, completing the credential write ups, liaising with the client team for any follow-up activities.
- Continually researching and developing new ways to help our clients realise their strategic ambitions.
- Bringing a creative flair, fostering a culture of experimentation and entrepreneurial spirit within the team.
- Proficient emotional intelligence and deep understanding of the importance of energy, flow and inspiration. Create a safe place for participation and input during the design and delivery of a session.
- Adept listening skills and ability to navigate challenging and political discussions and viewpoints.
- Ability to track metrics, fulfil reporting, optimize processes and be involved in developing strategic priorities for the EY wavespace team
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Experience working with facilitation tools and proven track record of successful experience facilitation.
- Excellent communication skills, and enthusiasm for investigating and learning new facilitation techniques.
- Experience using (and a passion for) interactive technology and collaboration tools (e.g. Miro/Mural, MS suite)
- A curious, inquisitive mindset and the ability to drive innovation.
- Attention to details and precision in execution of tasks.
- A background in bringing together multiple parties to collaborate and architect solutions which engage clients.
- Comfortable working closely with C-suite level executives.
- Experience working directly with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work with a wide range of multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Experience using design thinking frameworks and working on agile teams.
- Ability to quickly understand different client objectives and use creative problem-solving skills to translate objectives into engaging workshops.
- Strong project management skills
- Commercial awareness and strong business acumen, including forethought, capacity for creativity, and adaptability.
- High emotional intelligence.
- Strong ability to handle and facilitate difficult conversations and different points of view.
- Develop and maintain long-term client relationships, as well as internal/external networks, ability to integrate into new teams and rapidly establish rapport.
- Strong business knowledge of one (or more) industry sector is desirable.
- Ability to spot trends and interpret multiple signals across many parts of our business
- Able to curate and design visually impactful content for client facing sessions
Ideally, you will also have
- Our workplace is in our Dublin office where we host in-person client sessions, for this reason candidates must be committed to commuting to our office in Dublin to facilitate working from our offices.
- We work flexibly and support remote working but are required to be in-person when facilitating client sessions.
- Relevant professional experience in one or more of the following disciplines/frameworks: Experience Design, Design Thinking, Customer/Employee Experience, Strategy and Business Design, System Design, Innovation Design and Project Management, SCRUM, Agile.
- Proven experience working in a consulting environment.
- Proven record of using human-centred design methods to solve complex problems.
- Experience using collaborative facilitation with C-level executives.
What we look for
- Bachelor’s degree or above, post-graduate degree is a plus, preference for a background in the following disciplines: Experience Design, Design Thinking, Customer/Employee Experience, Strategy and Business Design, System Design, Innovation Design and Project Management, SCRUM, Agile.
- Completion of any Innovation, Design Thinking, Human-Centred Design is preferred.
- 5 - 7 years professional experience.
