Every 29 seconds someone in the world is diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast Cancer Ireland seeks to promote good breast health amongst women and men of all ages across Ireland. With a carefully developed, free of charge programme, we provide education to transition year students, teachers, companies, sporting and community groups nationally.
The Breast Health and Education Awareness Programme aims to educate women and men of all ages about the importance of good breast health. Should an abnormality occur, it will be identified early and the treatment outcome will be a lot more positive.
How does it work?
This complimentary service consists of a visit from a Breast Cancer Ireland Outreach Coordinator who will demonstrate, with a medical mannequin, how to perform a self-breast examination, and the 8 signs and symptoms to look out for.
Candidate Will:
- Be responsible for the delivery of the Breast Cancer Ireland Education and Awareness Programme across schools, community groups and companies in the Dublin region.
- Effectively represent and market the mission, vision and values of BCI at presentations, meetings and other events as agreed with the CEO
- Work closely with BCI’s Communications Officer to ensure the consistency of key BCI messages and brand in all communications both written and digital, where necessary.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities which may arise from time to time and which are relevant to the post or as required by the development manager. You will be given sufficient notice.
- Work closely with your bookings manager to ensure accurate calendar management.
- Have the ability to meet weekly target of visits
- Have flexibility to cover talks outside of your specified area from time to time as the need arises.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all work.
- Have the ability to adapt to different audiences; corporate, teachers, students, and community groups.
- Report weekly to the Development Manager and Bookings Manager.

The right candidate for this role is:
- A people person: Able to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the team
- A great communicator: you are able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Organised: you are able to manage different tasks at the same time and keep your calendar organised with your booking manager.
- IT Proficiency: You are comfortable using common office programs, such as Microsoft Office ( Powrepoint , Email and Excel) and light data entry.
- Flexible: You will open to travel , be a team player and provide cover in different regions as the need arises.
