Overview of Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Elastic Engineer to join them in Dublin city. As a Senior Elastic Engineer , you will design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient solutions using Elastic Stack technologies , including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats in on-premise environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This will be a twelve-month contract role initially and will be hybrid with two days at least onsite.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of Elastic Stack solutions, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats.
• Develop custom plugins, scripts, and configurations to enhance the functionality of Elastic Stack components.
• Optimize search performance and relevance through the design of efficient indexing strategies, search queries, and data mappings.
• Implement comprehensive security measures, including access control, encryption, and auditing, to safeguard sensitive data.
• Oversee the monitoring and maintenance of Elastic Stack clusters to ensure high availability and operational reliability.
• Automate deployment and management tasks using tools such as Ansible and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops, software engineering, and data teams to integrate Elastic Stack with both existing and new applications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams regarding Elastic Stack technologies and industry best practices.
• Establish and maintain policies and standards for data ingestion, indexing, querying, and visualization processes.
• Create and manage comprehensive architectural documentation and diagrams.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in Elastic Stack and related technologies, assessing their impact on our systems.

Key Qualification/Experience required

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience working with Elastic Stack technologies in on premise environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms.
• Proficiency in Elasticsearch query DSL, Logstash configuration, and Kibana visualisation.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Power Shell.
• Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Pod Man and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Elasticsearch Certified Engineer (ECE) certification.
• Knowledge of logging frameworks, monitoring tools, and SIEM solutions.
