Elastic Search Engineer - Dublin

Overview of Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Elastic Engineer to join them in Dublin city. As a Senior Elastic Engineer , you will design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient solutions using Elastic Stack technologies , including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats in on-premise environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This will be a twelve-month contract role initially and will be hybrid with two days at least onsite.

Role & Responsibilities:

Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of Elastic Stack solutions, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats.
Develop custom plugins, scripts, and configurations to enhance the functionality of Elastic Stack components.
Optimize search performance and relevance through the design of efficient indexing strategies, search queries, and data mappings.
Implement comprehensive security measures, including access control, encryption, and auditing, to safeguard sensitive data.
Oversee the monitoring and maintenance of Elastic Stack clusters to ensure high availability and operational reliability.
Automate deployment and management tasks using tools such as Ansible and Kubernetes.
Collaborate with Dev Ops, software engineering, and data teams to integrate Elastic Stack with both existing and new applications.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams regarding Elastic Stack technologies and industry best practices.
Establish and maintain policies and standards for data ingestion, indexing, querying, and visualization processes.
Create and manage comprehensive architectural documentation and diagrams.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in Elastic Stack and related technologies, assessing their impact on our systems.

Key Qualification/Experience required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience working with Elastic Stack technologies in on premise environments.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms.
Proficiency in Elasticsearch query DSL, Logstash configuration, and Kibana visualisation.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Power Shell.
Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Pod Man and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Elasticsearch Certified Engineer (ECE) certification.
Knowledge of logging frameworks, monitoring tools, and SIEM solutions.
