Financial Accountant, Investment Backed Midlands Company

Our client based in Longford is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team due to a recent promotion. This Financial Accountant job is with an investment backed company and is commutable from Westmeath, Offaly, Roscommon, Leitrim, Cavan, Sligo and Galway. You will partner with the Financial Controller across finance projects, budgeting, forecasting and monthly accounts preparation giving you a breadth of exposure. It’s the ideal, long-term Financial Accountant job if you are based in or near Longford or you are looking to move closer to home from Dublin or abroad.

This business has seen its turnover increase 3-fold in the last three years by securing multi-million euro worth public and private sector projects across Ireland. They have a modern production facility in Longford and the company has secured private investment from experienced entrepreneurs to continue its upward trajectory. In what is a hugely collaborative and friendly business, you will work with senior leaders across all sections of the organisation allowing you build your reputation as a trusted advisor. The Financial Controller is exceptionally impressive and is keen to develop your skills by giving you exposure to all areas of finance.
Your new job
This Financial Accountant job has multiple layers including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and finance projects which will give you excellent exposure. You will partner with the Financial Controller in budgeting and forecasting as the project pipeline continues to grow, continuously revising forecasts and keeping the senior leadership team updated on revenue and costs on a monthly basis. You will also use your financial analysis skills to prepare cost models for new business and report on actuals vs. budget once projects commence. In addition to preparing monthly financial accounts, management accounts, VAT returns and other statutory obligations, you will drive continuous improvements in finance processes. Among imminent projects include introducing a PO approval process which utilises their existing ERP system, maximise returns for the company from the R&D Tax Credit and further develop processes around inventory accounting.

Experience that will help you
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and you can have trained in a large practice such as the Big 4 or Top 10 or have developed your career in industry.
