Job objective:
Answering directly to the transport manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the routine maintenance and repairs of trucks and tail lifts.
The role will involve fault diagnosis, service maintenance and repairs of our fleet of Vans, Rigid and Artic trucks and trailers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for routine mechanical and preventive maintenance duties in the inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles and tail lifts.
- Set up and maintain a schedule of preventative maintenance check on all assets.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workshop and workspace
- Engage proactively with site H&S and compliance guidelines
- Ability to learn the specific processes and equipment items used and the skill of identifying issues which could potentially lead to a breakdown in the future.
- All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises
- Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's, objectives.
- Fully Qualified Mechanic
- 3-5 years experience working on HGV vehicles.
- Be organised, flexible and prepared to work as part of a team.
- Have strong problem-solving skills
- Can-do attitude
- Great attention to detail
- Be diligent and work well under pressure.
- Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
