Requirements:

• Experience working Front of House with at least 2 years experience
• Ability to manage bookings through phone calls, emails and Res Diary.
• Must be available mid week & weekends.
• Great communication skills & Fluent English

Duties:
1. Greeting Guests

• Warmly welcoming guests as they enter the bar or restaurant.
• Smiling and maintaining a friendly manner at all times.

2. Managing Reservations

• Answering phone calls and responding to reservation inquiries.
• Organizing and managing reservations, either manually or through a booking system.

3. Seating Guests

• Escorting guests to their assigned table or preferred seating area.
• Providing menus and explaining any specials or promotions.

4. Managing Wait Lists

• Keeping track of the waitlist during busy periods.
• Informing guests of approximate wait times and managing expectations.

5. Coordinating with Wait Staff

• Communicating with servers to ensure tables are ready and available.
• Notifying the wait staff when new guests are seated.

6. Answering Customer Queries

• Answering any questions about the menu, restaurant policies, or special events.
• Providing information about the bar’s or restaurant’s offerings.

7. Handling Special Requests

• Accommodating guest preferences such as specific seating requests, dietary needs, or celebrations (e.g., birthdays).

8. Maintaining a Clean Reception Area

• Ensuring the front-of-house and entryway are tidy and welcoming.
• Managing any brochures, menus, or promotional materials displayed at the entrance.

9. Assisting with Guest Satisfaction

• Checking in with guests to ensure they are satisfied with their seating arrangements and service.
• Addressing any complaints or passing them along to management if necessary.

10. Supporting Other Staff

• Helping with the flow of service by coordinating closely with servers, bartenders, and management.
• Assisting with taking or serving drink orders during peak times (if required by the establishment).

11. Monitoring Capacity

• Ensuring that the bar/restaurant does not exceed capacity limits, especially during busy periods.
• Managing guest flow to optimize seating and minimize wait times.

12. Handling Guest Departures

• Thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return.
• Assisting with any final requests, such as calling a taxi or providing directions.

13. Handling Reservations and Inquiries Online

• Managing reservations made through apps or websites.
• Responding to guest inquiries or feedback received through online platforms.

In this role, the hostess helps create a welcoming, organized, and smooth experience for all guests, ensuring that they feel valued from the moment they arrive until they leave.
