Instructor/Supervisor
Bray
Permanent Part-Time 140 hours per month
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Instructor/Supervisor to join our services in Day Service Hrs in residential setting in Bray. As an Instructor/Supervisor, you will be involved in supporting clients to achieve their personal outcomes to build on their potential and to develop positive roles within their day service and community. Working hours will be Monday to Friday.
About this Service:
Our Service has a mix of male and female clients, that range in ages. Our clients’ needs range from independent to assisted support. Our clients may require some mobility and personal care support. Day to day in our Location, our clients like to be out in the community meeting friends, going bowling, attending concerts and the theatre. Our clients love dining out and enjoying afternoon tea.
Our clients like to get away on holidays, in the past year, some of our clients have been to America, London, Liverpool, Manchester, Poland and lots of road trips around Ireland.
We are looking for dedicated, caring and motivated individuals to join our team!
Applicants must have:

• A minimum of QQI level 6 in Training or Education, Social Care, Psychology, or foreign equivalent (validated by QQI)
• A passion for promoting and empowering people
• A team player wiling to lone work as well as working as part of a team
• A knowledge of the New Directions regulations/standards and relevant legislation
• Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car
• Post qualification experience of working with adults with intellectual disability is desirable
• A passion for promoting and empowering those you support
• Excellent organisation and communication skills
• Enthusiasm, energy and creativity
• Excellent IT and report writing skills
• Can deal with confidential information in a discreet and responsible manner.
• Understanding and experience of therapeutic interventions

Desirable:

• One Year’s post qualification experience of working with adults with intellectual disability
• Experience of working alone in a one to one environment as well as experience of teamwork.
• Experience of dealing with complex behaviours that challenge and with behavioural supports
• CPI experience and working with dual diagnosis and complex behaviors.
• Experience in alternative communications
• Experience of creative problem-solving techniques

Key Responsibilities:

• To facilitate and implement a person-centered approach to clients appropriate to their wishes and goals
• To promote and protect the rights of people in a manner that respects their dignity, their right to make choices and their privacy
• To actively seek new interests and opportunities for people to develop meaningful roles in their communities
• To ensure the overall wellbeing of clients in all areas of their lives including health and personal care
• To assist in the teaching of life skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning & building confidence

Salary Scale:
Successful candidates will be paid as per the HSE consolidated pay scales in line with required qualifications and relevant experience.
