Position Description
ESB Telecoms Limited is a highly profitable stand-alone subsidiary of ESB and reports against its own P&L. As a wholesale telecoms provider, the company operates in a different industry and in a highly competitive market. In that context the business is managed by business and industry experts and decision making is the responsibility of the SMT within ESB Telecoms Limited.The successful candidate will be a key member of the ESBT Safety Team responsible for managing safety on ESBT’s sites. This includes ESBT’s own staff and contractors as well as contractors working for customers of ESBT. ESBT issues over 4000 work approvals annually as well as managing access to the sites daily.
Key Responsibilities
- To pro-actively promote a safety ethos within the ESB Telecoms Ltd business lines.
- To pro-actively promote a safety ethos within all contractors accessing telecommunication sites.
- To monitor and assist with the effective approval of contractor work requests.
- Collection and dissemination of information and statistics to support the effective safety and technical performance within the function.
- To undertake site & behavioral safety audits.
- Liaise with ESBT staff, third-party supervisors, and telecommunication providers.
- To attend local operation, safety working groups and safety committee meetings.
- To monitor and assist with effective safety and environmental procedural documents as required by ISO certification.
- To review and verify contractor safety certifications and insurance certification.
- To coordinate contractor safety induction training courses.
- To review and verify staff safety competency approvals.
- Assist in the maintenance of the safety extranet and key access systems.
- Undertake site and task Risk Assessments.
- Undertake Near Miss & Accident investigations.
- To assist local management on the implementation of the company’s safety policies.
- To advise local managers as to the observance of the requirements of the relevant statutory provisions
Experience & Qualifications
- Recent relevant administration experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, achieve challenging targets and self-motivated.
- High standard of computer skills.
- Be capable of working as part of a flexible team.
- Hold a full valid driving licence.
- Thorough knowledge of telecommunication sites and experience dealing with telecommunications customers and stakeholders.
- A third level qualification in Health and Safety or recent relevant experience
Location
ESB Telecoms Limited, Swift Square, Dublin 9.

The successful candidate will report to the Health and Safety Manager, ESB Telecoms Ltd

Salary
€38,500 - €45,000 depending on experience
