Senior Accounts Bookkeeper / Accountant Technician

Part Qualified Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper / Administrator will be responsible for the accounting function of the company to P&L along with a bit of administration support to the Managing Directors.
The role is permanent and we're flexible with the hours. Ideally 32.5 hours works perfectly for us but we're very open to discussing what works for you too and we are happy to work around your personal needs. The position might suit someone winding down and looking for less hours if the experience is there. Your experience in accounting will determine your rate of pay but we're very fair and open to discuss this.
Brief Summary of Duties
  • General / Standard bookkeeping at a senior level – invoicing and quotations, accounts payable/receivable, subcontractor ROS management, statement/remittance, debtors /creditors/invoice register, PAYE returns and creating wages journals, statutory returns including Revenue / CSO / External Auditors, Tax, CRO, RCT, VAT and similar filings, month/year end journals/accruals, filing and archiving of hardcopy invoices etc, month and year end close, handle Revenue requests, general ledger, bank reconciliation, corporation tax and filing financial statements etc
  • Point of contact for account related queries.
  • Management of Company’s financial operations
  • Preparation of business reports, monthly, management etc and production financial / standard business reports and budgets, end of year audit, prepare accounts and trial balances.
  • Work closely with Project Managers on project costings, application for payments, negotiating better deals on materials etc.
  • Advise company employees on pay and tax as and when required.
  • Working within the team and willing to jump in when needed
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Must be dog-friendly and willing to share your workspace with Luna our loving Labrador.
  • 5 to 10 years' experience of working in a similar role
  • An accounting or similar qualification would be an advantage but it is not a requirement. The position may suit a part qualified accountant or senior bookkeeper
  • Human Resource knowledge an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully on own initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail is an absolute must.
  • Organised, efficient, reliable, and work to high-quality standards;
  • Commitment to discretion and confidentiality
  • Experience of the construction industry would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Advanced skills in MS Outlook, Excel and SAGE 50
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to undertake a range of diverse duties as required, handle multiple tasks, changing priorities and a demanding time-sensitive workload

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / Accountant Technician with many years’ experience. If you have a construction background, that would be a great advantage, however excellent working knowledge of Irish tax law, payroll, and the latest accounting/bookkeeping practices and standards are a must. You will need strong time management skills with the ability to work independently as well as alongside our team.
You will be trusted adviser and confidante to the Managing Directors, providing expert advice and support on all finance related issues and initiatives as well as insight on how to optimise the financial performance of the company. Your commitment to confidentiality and handling sensitive information with the strictest discretion will be of the highest level.
