We are looking to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant based on client site in Dublin 2.

Role Description:
The Finance Team is seeking a new member, whose primary focus is to assist the Finance Manager to deliver enhancement and assurance of control in finance operation and processes, an effective and efficient Treasury management process within finance team. You will also be ensuring that tasks performed by our back office have been completed to standard and on time. This is an excellent opportunity to work with high volume transactions in a GDPR compliant environment and assist with the finance business needs.
The Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role within the Finance Team in supporting the operations of the business and transport operators, the daily working capital management and preparation and presentation of the monthly management accounts.
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare, enhance, and present monthly management accounts, reporting packs and KPIs for management, internal and external stakeholders;
- Prepare financial analysis, provide reporting expertise and financial support;
- Support the annual budget process and consolidation of inputs from various stakeholders and scheme units;
- Effectively deliver and enhance daily working capital management and processes;
- Completion of weekly, monthly and annual controls and assist in development and enhancement of control procedures and matrices;
- Ensure efficiency and timeliness in businesses banking operation including preparation of/overseeing settlements, management of direct debit process and customer refunds process;
- Support and contribute to foreseeable financial system transition across all business sections;
- Ensure high-quality and up-to-date procedure documents are maintained for areas of responsibility and across the finance team operation;
- Ensure maintenance of daily systems and internal controls;
- Support the finance manager and leadership;
- Support and manage the audit assignments performed by internal and external audit and other regulatory bodies;
- Manage queries from various stakeholders in a timely manner;
- Support and lead team cross training;
- Project leading on process improvement and enhancement.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant, min 5 years post qualification experience.
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Strong Excel skills essential.
- Ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience of a PLC, audit or GDPR environment is desirable.
What will I be doing
Typical activities include the following:
- Working under the supervision of Associate Directors, Directors or Partners within Strategy and Transactions as well as other Ernst & Young departments in both Ireland and internationally on the following assignments:
- Valuations
- Business modelling
- Strategic advice
- Business planning & operational analysis
- Mergers, buyouts and disposals
- Due diligence
- Working effectively as a team member by sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior members on progress.
- Understanding our client requirements, co-developing our approach with the client, and providing value to our clients through insights, factual conclusions and advice.
- Apply and document complex valuations methodologies.
- Design, develop and document complex business models.
- Review Excel models under supervision and arrive at preliminary conclusions.
- Understand, manipulate and interpret financial data and client information, drawing appropriate conclusions.
- Carry out relevant analysis and present your findings (both written and orally).
- Gathering, verifying and analysing information to formulate views.
- Day to day progression of assignments to include; planning, preparing and reviewing various forms of deliverables to include reports and presentations.
- A focus on anticipating and identifying risks that require escalation and subsequently escalating these risks to more senior staff as appropriate.
- Working closely with colleagues you will ensure that work is properly executed, documented and concluded in compliance with our Quality & Risk Management guidelines.
- Actively establishing, maintaining and strengthening your internal and external relationships.
- As an influential member of the team, you will help to create a positive learning culture. You will be responsible for mentoring and developing more junior members of staff and providing constructive feedback on both a formal and informal basis.
- Maintaining and constantly upgrading technical knowledge and personal skills.
People responsibilities
- Develop network of contacts (internal & external)
- Seek regular feedback on individual assignments and regular guidance from counsellor
- Manage own time to budgets and communicate progress against plan to assignment manager
- Identifying issues and drawing to attention of Partner/Director and contributing to discussions
Technical skills requirements
- Ideally you will have an accounting qualification - CA or equivalent; a sound grasp of Irish GAAP and/or IFRS and financial accounting, combined with a high level of business awareness and a strong understanding of the factors that drive financial performance
- Highly numerate with a sound grasp of Excel and a natural interest in using it to help clients to better understand their business or to make better business decisions
- A track record in valuations and/or financial modelling, experience of working in a professional services environment, and exposure to high profile transactions, would all be a distinct advantage
- Familiarity with key valuation methodology and approaches and/or the ability to develop or formally review financial models is a pre-requisite
- Additional technical skills such as Visual Basis or SQL and other programming languages would be an advantage
Additional skills requirements
- Qualified with ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
- 3 years relevant experience
- Minimum 2.1 degree, numeric subjects preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and client focus are important, as well as attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates organization and self management skills
- Pro-actively manage own development
