Job Title Systems administrator / Data analyst
Reports to Financial Controller
Hours 37 hours per week
Position Full time, permanent


ROLE PURPOSE
This role is a dual aspect role, with one responsibility being the administrator of the finance systems within the organisation, as well as acting as a data analyst for queries that will help support the financial performance and growth of the hospital.


QUALIFICATIONS

• No qualification required.
• Experience in Saa S application support is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI required.
• Knowledge of healthcare sector / health insurance is preferred but is not essential.
• Understanding of i PMs and Open Accounts is preferred but not essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Key Areas of Responsibility


Systems administration
Act as the applications administrator for the finance systems within the organisation and provide support as required. Examples of support required are:

• Setting up new users on various systems including managing access and permissions;
• Training for new staff members;
• Updating patient pricing spreadsheets;
• Processing changes to patient management software (updating prices, creating new business services etc.);
• Set up and support of new users on our recently introduced Mediclaim system.

Data analysis
Support the finance department with the management of data analysis requests that come through the hospital. Examples of such requests include:

• Preparing analysis of patient activity and revenue across a series of metrics (procedure type, patient context, age, insurer etc.);
• Supporting the finance team with the creation of tables / charts / graphs for the analysis of data on Power BI; and
• Liaising with the BI team to provide feedback for any adjustments required to the underlying data following on from finance team analysis.

• Undertake various ad hoc assignments as required.

2. Communication Skills
Engage, collaborate and communicate appropriately with finance colleagues and other members of the health care teams to ensure a quality service is provided to all while constantly striving for excellence in patient/customer care.

• Communicate in a manner that avoids antagonism, reduces conflict and prevents undue anxiety.
• Recognise limitations and seek assistance where necessary.
• Attend and contribute to appropriate meetings.
• Accept constructive advice when appropriate.
• Report all incidents immediately, which may adversely affect a patient, colleague or the Blackrock Clinic.

3. General Expectations
Support the philosophy, objectives and goals of Blackrock Clinic.

• Observe the appropriate lines of authority.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patients and the activities of Blackrock Clinic.
• Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in all areas of the Hospital/Clinic as required.
• Observe annual leave policy with due consideration for strict reporting deadlines and the timing of other key deliverables.
• Participate in developing and providing quality care within Blackrock Clinic.
• Assist in the orientation of new personnel.
• Continue to develop personal knowledge, attend internal training as required and seeks outside educational opportunities.
• Present a professional appearance and confirm to the dress, hygiene and infection control policies of the Clinic.
• Is always punctual on duty.
• Flexible attitude to changing work practices.
