Job Description:
PTC Therapeutics Ireland is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Accountants to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring Accounting professionals to gain practical experience, whilst studying towards gaining their ACA qualification, and develop their skills in a dynamic, and fast-paced environment. The successful candidates will support the Finance team in various Accounting / FP&A functions and contribute to the overall success of the department. This role is a Full-time (3- or 3.5-year training contract – contract length qualifications dependent)
Responsibilities of the Role Include
  • Assist with budgetary process: development of annual budgets and forecasts through proactive engagement with the business.
  • Assist in performance measurement against budget and forecast through appropriate monthly reporting and analysis.
  • Financial Reporting: assist with the preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Work closely with the internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with IFRS.
  • Assist with the month end close process, including creation and upload of journals to SAP, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, monitor accounts receivable and payable, and ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and other tasks as assigned by manager
Requirements for the Role Include
  • Minimum 2.1 degree in Accounting, Business Studies or a related business field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; familiarity with SAP or Power Bi is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • An interest in the Life Science industry is strongly beneficial
