Who are we looking for? We seek a skilled Data Engineer with experience in the Energy Industry to join our founding team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our startup by laying the foundation of our data infrastructure. You’ll play a critical role in developing scalable and efficient data solutions, essential for the successful deployment of our ML models.
Responsibilities:

Develop and manage ETL scalable data infrastructure pipelines to integrate and process data from various sources.
Support in various stages of machine learning model development: feature selection & engineering, resampling & training, testing & cross-validation, hyperparameter optimization, industrialization (MLOps)
Collaborate closely with data scientists and analysts
Develop and document clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Support senior management with data-driven problem-solving and complex analyses.

Requirements:

2yrs experience in the Energy Industry in a Data Engineering role or similar.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
Experience with relational and non-relational databases (My SQL, Postgre SQL, Hadoop, SQLServer).
Experience with ML libraries and frameworks (Tensor Flow, Pandas)
Deep knowledge of big data technologies such as Apache Spark family, Map/Reduce, Hadoop, etc.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS.
Outstanding creativity, curiosity, and proactivity
Exceptional problem-solving skills and keen attention to details.
Proficiency in both English and Italian. Spanish is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
Prior experience within the Energy/Utility, Telecom sectors, or in consulting firms serving clients in these industries (fornitore di energia)
Experience with reporting tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI is a plus.
Knowledge of key CI/CD tools (Docker, Git) is a plus.
