BOWLING CENTER ASSISTANT MANAGER NF-03 RFT (JAPAN WIDE)

Duties
Assists the manager in the overall operation, supervision, and administration of the Strike Zone Bowling Center. The Bowling Center includes twenty lanes, pro shop, snack bar, the Eleventh Frame bar, equipment maintenance and repair, and building facility management. The Assistant Manager ensures that each section is staffed with subject matter experts to operate all equipment and facilities under this position's supervision, must maintain a working knowledge of equipment in order to aid in operations when needed. Implements higher level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of recreational and promotional efforts. Provides financial information/data calls for HQ review. Markets, promotes, schedules, and manages the conduct of leagues, tournaments, matches, and other programs. Researches and utilizes resources for the purchase of supplies, equipment and resale merchandise and maintenance. Establishes food promotional items for snack bars, pricing and selects new items for resale. Carries out necessary liaison with other staff officials that support Recreational Business activities. Responsible for acting on internal and patron problems with minimal adverse impact on functional programs.
Required to participate in online training and management certification program in maintenance and guidelines. May be required to obtain Serv Safe certification for staff training purposes. May be required to travel in order to attend training and certifications.
Develops alliances and associations with national, regional, name brand and sister-services in-house food concepts. Develops or facilitates specialized food and beverage training programs via conferences, workshops, and seminars. Acts as MCCS Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for assigned contracts.
Plans, organizes work, and manages internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares financial plan, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports. Reviews the operational and financial status of the assigned activity and recommends changes considered necessary. Reviews, communicates, and implements the internal control system to protect and sustain financial and material assets of the assigned activities. Either directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors manages activity employees. Trains, schedules work, appraises performance, counsels assigned personnel, and recommends personnel actions. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal employment Opportunity policy, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, security, and other environmental issues. Manages new property resources and provides advice on renovations and improvements. Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action.
Develops and ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Station Safety Program. Conducts safety meetings at least quarterly. Advises employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials, and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Human Resources Office. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with "Return To Work" program initiatives and following up on employee well-being.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Qualifications
2. Must possess or obtain within 1st year of employment- Serv Safe food and alcohol certifications.
3. Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred.
4. Ability to supervise.
5. Must demonstrate ability to deal effectively with subordinates, supervisory and management officials, and patrons.
6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
7. Must possess valid driver's license and maintain station driving privileges.
This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a low-risk, non-sensitive Tier-1 background investigation with favorable eligibility as required.
