The Computer Operator is critical to the success of daily operations at a RAPIDS Issuing Facility. The Computer Operator will manage and maintain the DMDC Security Online database for the Navy Personnel Support Detachment in Japan.

The Computer Operator is critical to the success of daily operations at a RAPIDS Issuing Facility. The Computer Operator will manage and maintain the DMDC Security Online database for the Navy Personnel Support Detachment in Japan.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the site’s contact information, mailing and location addresses, telephone numbers, and website URLs.
- Notify application POC of information changes.
- Regularly review the list of users at the respective site and remove user access when the user has met any one of the following conditions:
- No longer needs for the application
- Has been suspended from using the application
- Applicable user at that site
- Communicate with DMDC when system errors, issues, or downtime occur.
- Maintain site equipment and facility.
- Maintain daily operations by ensuring there is a minimum of two SSMs who can log in to the system without lapse of their DMDC certifications.
- Ensure certifications do not lapse for VOs by having them log in to the system monthly.
- Assist and unlock user accounts.
- Manage the SSM and VO list for the work site in Security Online.
- Manage and maintain the online Appointment Scheduler website for the work site.
- Ensure daily functions and routines of the ID Lab are accomplished, including but not limited to:
- Ensuring CAC and USID supplies are available
- SSMs and VOs are conducting business according to the instructions and current policies
- Conduct fingerprint and lost ID overrides
- Generate monthly reports via Cognos, for DMDC submission.
- Ensure the system is prepared by accepting and opening CAC cardstock.
- Complete annual company and customer training requirements.
- Prepare monthly production metrics for submission to the Project Manager.
- Record labor hours daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 6+ months of relevant work experience in a PSD office or as a Verifying Official.
- Interim Secret clearance to start.
- Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Extensive knowledge of RAPIDS and DMDC systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with others, and to explain complex actions regarding a military member’s entitlements, allowances, or collections.
- Working knowledge of commonly used military terminology used within office settings.
- Ability to assist users and use appropriate grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation in all official correspondence and work products.
- Working knowledge of standard office equipment, like computers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, and other office automation systems to perform a substantial range of office automation support.
