Salary Range: Annual 6.0-7.0 mm JPY, depending on experience, inclusive of bonuses.

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English-Japanese Translator/Interpreter to join our team in Chitose, Japan. This full-time role is pivotal in facilitating clear and accurate communication between our English-speaking team and Japanese business partners, authorities, and community. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our operations, ensuring seamless interaction across cultures and languages.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide real-time translation and interpretation during meetings, discussions, and negotiations with Japanese partners, suppliers, and local authorities.
· Translate a variety of documents, including legal texts, technical manuals, marketing materials, and correspondence from English to Japanese and vice versa, ensuring that the translated content conveys the original meaning, tone, and nuances.
· Assist in organizing and coordinating events, tours, and activities for the company, involving both English and Japanese speakers.
· Facilitate communication for English-speaking staff with local services, authorities, and community members.
· Help navigate and understand local regulations and cultural practices relevant to the spirits industry and business operations in Japan.
· Act as a cultural liaison, advising on cultural norms, business etiquette, and language nuances to foster mutual respect and understanding.
Qualifications:
· Native Japanese speaker with exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English.
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a translation and interpretation role in a professional environment.
· Strong understanding of cultural nuances and business etiquette in both Japan and the United States.
· Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
· Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, displaying professionalism and diplomacy at all times.
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Languages, or a related field.
· Familiarity with the spirits industry and its regulations in Japan is highly desirable.
