Language on Demand, Inc. (LOD) is a government contracting firm located in Northern Virginia (United States) that offers a full range of language translation, interpretation, bilingual staffing, and related services.
Description: LOD is seeking an experienced and qualified linguist to provide Japanese interpretation and translation services to support VARIOUS U.S. NAVY, MARINE CORPS, ARMY AND AIR FORCE BASES AND FACILITIES THROUGHOUT NAVFAC FAR EAST AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person language interpretation (consecutive, simultaneous, escort) from English to Japanese and Japanese to English
• Provide telephonic/virtual interpretation between English and Japanese
• Interpret and/or translate technical and legal language pertaining to contracting, engineering and design, utilities, real estate, legal documents and discussions, market research, land surveys, general business, etc.
• Some in-person interpretation assignments may include on-site written translation services

求める人材:
Qualifications:

• Possess native-level fluency in Japanese (spoken and written) and fluency in English (spoken and written)
• Minimum of 3 years of professional simultaneous interpretation and translation experience
• Minimum bachelor’s degree with relevant educational background
• Possess the ability to capture and convey language register and cultural nuances to the target language reader/audience
