【概要・業務内容】

• 主な役割:

Working under the leadership of the Manager, MD Japan and in partnership with the global merchandising team, the Merchandising specialist is responsible for the execution of Brand Strategy in line with Global, the facilitation of maximizing sales, profits and brand equity through effective coordination of the logistics, operations, and marketing of the respective category within the UGG brand for all distribution channels, including Retail, Wholesale and e-Commerce in Japan.
This position will be responsible for Men’s, Kid’s and collaboration.

業務内容(職責)

• Implement category merchandising strategy to Japan market (20%)

Set and execute category strategy based on long range plan. Identify future opportunity through the understanding of brand /market/customer/distribution channel, and input to Global team for future season’s development.

• Create seasonal assortment plan (35%)

Work closely with global PLM, UGG brand and with the merchandising manager to plan and select for seasonal product story and mix for Deckers Japan.
Understand market and customers shopping habits and requirements and implement plan to satisfy their needs. Also, support Sales team for their product understanding.

• Achieve Financial Goals. Net sales, gross margin, SKU productivity (15%)

Ensure all products are well enough merchandised to maximize the financial goals in terms of quantity, timing and assortment. Enhance SKU productivity to improve inventory turn over.

• Merchandising Operation (20%)

Work closely with MD manager, operation team, Ecom team, QA team and Global team to ensure MD linelist, order data are up to date and managed.

• Manage collaborations (10%)

Work closely with the global collaboration team and sales/marketing teams to manage SMU/collaboration creations.

【Skills/Competencies】

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of merchandising experience in fashion industry, ideally experienced in footwear with knowledge of brands.
• Strategic planning experience in terms of merchandising, buying and liquidation both for

short-term and mid-term (3-5yrs) to enhance the brand equity and in line with Global Brand concept.

• Demonstrable success of retail/sales operations coordination and experienced inventory control.
• High regard and attention for detail, accuracy and displays analytical and numeracy skills
• Excellent planning, organizing and problem solving skills with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills, and a talent for building relationships with internal and external partners.
• Current insight and knowledge of product trends, store displays and aware of consumer buying behavior.
• Knowledge of costing, product safety requirements, packaging, QA and compliance.
• Willing to adapt and take on new challenges and to continually improve operations efficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written business communication in English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Able to expertly work with IT systems such as Oracle
• Travels within Japan and to the global headquarter in the US.
