Operations and Logistics Manager, Uber Eats Japan

Uber Eats is looking to grow the Merchants' Operations team in Japan. As a Merchant Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in scaling processes for our merchant partners while ensuring and maintaining a high standard of operational quality. In this role, your focus areas will include areas such as merchant policy creation and enforcement, merchant money processes and merchant account security. You will have the opportunity to work directly with various local teams to enable new merchant processes while taking ownership of finding and implementing operational efficiencies.
Your Impact in Role:
- Build & Scale Ops Processes: Create and scale processes across Japan to enable our merchant partners to operate efficiently and grow. Use data-driven decision-making to understand performance and prioritize high-impact processes.
- Drive analysis of data at scale and aggregate insights to drive key business decisions. Define critical metrics and develop dashboards to supervise business performance
- Partner with our central/global product teams to develop product solutions to meet merchant needs/use cases
- 5+ years of relevant experience in operations and business problem solving, applying analytics to address business challenges and recommend solutions
- Teamwork/ stakeholders management: you work well with other people and can handle engagement with multiple partners from different teams, locally and internationally
- Executional excellence/ Initiative and ownership: you manage and deliver end-to-end projects with autonomy in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment with tight deadlines, and you have demonstrated ability to coordinate, plan and prioritize tasks across multiple projects
- Analytical skills: you can develop meaningful insights from complex data. You have experience with data analysis, data manipulation, and data visualization tools. You are highly proficient in Excel/Sheets; experience with SQL, is a big plus
- Fluency in Japanese and English is a big plus
