Supervisory Arts Specialist (Skills Development)

Duties
-
Under the direct Supervi Sion of the first-line Supervi Sor exercises support in a broad range of business operations, and directs
subordinate personnel in order to develop, conduct, and maintain programs/community services designed to enhance the morale and
welfare of the Yokota AB population - Assists with workforce management and functions as a first-level supervisor to the various program managers, providing on-the-job training, evaluating performance, and taking appropriate disciplinary action after consulting with the Arts and Crafts Center Director.
- Assists in developing, administering, and analyzing long and short-term NAP/APP budgets and capital improvement plans to ensure positive financial condition
- Responsible for the ESOH/HAZMAT/HAZWASTE initial accumulation point waste stream for programs.
- Acts as training monitor and safety representative. Plans and details recurring and non-recurring activities, special events, and community undertakings, while smartly utilizing facilities, services, and other resources at their disposal to maximize positive impact for the community.

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a Tier 1 background investigation with favorable results.
- The incumbent must be a U. S. Citizen or legal U. S. residents residing within the commuting area (50-mile) of Yokota AB.
- Incumbent may be, required to work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifying Experience:
-
Must have or be able to demonstrate knowledge gained in the operation of a successful Air Force Arts and Crafts program
or an acceptable equivalent in the service industry. - Demonstrated experience in a related field that may have been gained in the operation of a resale operation in the military, public, or private sector is highly desirable.
- Must have knowledge of varied arts and crafts programs, such as fine arts, ceramics, photography, woodworking, etc. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, policies, and procedures of business sales practices is highly desirable.
- Must have knowledge of budget planning and development. Must have skill in operating a computer and using appropriate software applications related to rental reservations, point of sale, and office management. Must have basic mathematical skills to take measurements, compute amount of sale and issue correct change.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for some education substitution in order to qualify.Additional information
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
