Instructor of Public Administration and Leadership – Adjunct

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Adjunct Professor of Public Administration and Leadership to join our Executive Education program. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of public sector management, governance, and leadership principles. This role is crucial in preparing senior executives and professionals to navigate the complexities of public administration and to lead effectively within governmental and non-governmental organizations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and continuously refine course materials that address the key principles of public administration, leadership strategies, governance, and policy-making. The curriculum should cover both theoretical frameworks and practical applications, ensuring it is comprehensive, relevant, and aligned with current challenges and trends in the public sector.
  • Course Delivery: Lead interactive and engaging sessions tailored to senior executives and professionals, focusing on enhancing their leadership capabilities and understanding of public administration. Employ a variety of teaching methods, including case studies, leadership exercises, policy analysis, and group discussions, to facilitate deep learning and practical application.
  • Leadership Development: Provide mentorship and guidance to participants on developing and refining their leadership skills within the context of public administration. Support participants in applying leadership strategies to their professional roles, fostering ethical decision-making and effective governance.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate student performance, including assignments, policy briefs, leadership projects, and presentations. Offer constructive feedback that helps participants grow as leaders and administrators in the public sector.
  • Industry Integration: Stay informed of the latest trends, research, and developments in public administration and leadership, including emerging governance models, public policy challenges, and leadership theories. Continuously integrate this knowledge into the curriculum to ensure the course remains relevant and forward-looking. Engage with public sector leaders and policymakers to bring real-world insights into the classroom.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Education team to ensure that the course content aligns with the broader goals of the program and meets the evolving needs of public sector professionals. Participate in curriculum reviews, program development, and other collaborative initiatives to enhance the quality and impact of the Executive Education offerings.


Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications or advanced studies in leadership, governance, or public policy are highly desirable.
  • Professional Experience: Extensive experience in public administration, leadership roles, governance, or related fields, with a proven track record of leading successful public sector initiatives. Experience in consulting, advising government officials, or working within public institutions is highly desirable.
  • Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience at the university level, particularly in executive education or professional development programs, is an advantage. Experience in developing and delivering online or hybrid courses is also beneficial.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Exceptional leadership abilities with the capacity to engage and inspire a diverse group of senior professionals. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in public administration and leadership in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest advancements in public administration, governance, and leadership. Active participation in professional organizations, public administration networks, or leadership forums is encouraged.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
