What to Expect

The Senior Risk Specialist assists the Head of Risk Management in the translation of the company's and Baloise Group's risk appetite and risk policies into the daily business for Baloise Assurances Luxembourg S.A. and Baloise Vie Luxembourg S.A.. Under the responsibility of the Head of Risk Management, he or she ensures the effective operation of the risk management system, executing the risk and governance program and maintaining an organization-wide and aggregated view on the company's risk profile.

The Senior Risk Specialist will be in charge of the following tasks:

• Maintain and develop the annual ORSA Report and other Risk reporting (SFCR, RSR, QRTs) for Life and Non-Life entities
• ALCO – RICO (Asset Liability Committee / Risk Committee): Assist the team in the preparation of the agenda, collect and prepare the supporting documentation and write the minutes
• Support the design and the monitoring of key risk indicators (KRIs)
• Support first line risk owners in consistently applying the Risk Management Framework to identify, assess, manage, monitor and report all material risks
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and quality reviews
• Maintain and develop policies based on the applicable governance framework
• Create, maintain and develop positive working relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external, to support the achieving key outcomes
• Promote a culture of strong risk awareness across the company

What We Expect

• Master’s degree in Actuarial, Risk Management, Finance or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the insurance sector, is desirable
  
• Strong reporting skills, high degree of independence, affinity with financial markets, actuarial calculations and insurance concepts (Life and Non-Life)
  
• Significant risk management experience and understanding of local and SII regulatory framework
  
• Experience in writing internal policies, documenting processes, risk and controls
  
• Fluent in English and French. German is considered as an asset in the communication with Head Office
  
• Strong analytical skills. Detail-oriented and ability to interpret figures and other actuarial and financial information
  
• Team player, flexible, ability to work in a fast paced environment
  
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
  
• Excellent IT skills, in particular MS Excel, Word and Power Point
