KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Species Handling and Care: Specialize in handling specific species such as fish & shrimp focusing on their unique care needs from egg or larval stage to juvenile size.
• Water Quality and Environmental Management: Regularly monitor and adjust water conditions to create an ideal growth environment for young organisms, ensuring their health and development.
• Feeding and Nutritional Support: Administer and monitor feed distribution tailored to the nutritional needs of hatchlings, larvae, and juveniles, maintaining a balance to avoid waste and promote growth.
• Health and Sanitation: Identify and manage health issues, including disease prevention and maintaining high standards of cleanliness for tanks and equipment to reduce stress on organisms and prevent disease spread.
• Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain equipment used in water quality management, filtration, and aeration to support optimal conditions in the hatchery and nursery.
• Observation and Reporting: Constantly observe the young stock’s growth and health, ensuring that any anomalies are documented and reported to supervisors for immediate action.

Skills and Qualifications Needed:

• Education: A high school diploma is typically sufficient, though a background in biology, aquaculture, or fisheries science is beneficial.
• Experience: Experience in fish or aquaculture farms is an advantage, though on-the-job training is usually provided.
• Skills: Attention to detail, basic knowledge of aquatic organisms, understanding of water quality parameters, and familiarity with feeding and care protocols.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in wet, humid conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and cleaning tanks.
• Required Language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English or Chinese
• Independent and good team player and creative, self-motivated and able to work and stay in a farm
