Position Summary

Key Accountabilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of safety training programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Oversee the competency of Safety Training Instructors and ensure all training equipment and facilities meet required standards.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, maintaining accurate training records, and liaising with regulatory authorities as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety training into operational goals and provide expert advice on safety and emergency procedures.
• Mentor the safety training team and drive continuous improvement by staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
• Participate in and uphold safety and security policies aligned with operational goals for all employees.
• Ensure that all safety training programs are current, approved, and aligned with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company objectives.
• Monitor and ensure that the training delivered by the team adheres to all relevant regulations and industry best practices, making adjustments as needed.
• Oversee the development and revision of safety training manuals and training materials, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and relevance to current safety standards.
• Provide assistance in the formulation and evaluation of safety and emergency procedures, as well as in the preparation of directives and notices to crew members to ensure adherence and clarity.
• Provide strategic leadership to the safety training team, guiding their efforts and ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver high-quality training.
• Ensure that training resources, including equipment and facilities, are adequate, maintained, and utilised effectively.
• Liaise with other company departments and regulatory bodies to ensure crew safety objectives are met, and the safety training program is executed smoothly.
• Lead initiatives to improve the effectiveness of training programs by incorporating feedback, new technologies, and emerging industry practices.
• Ensure all training records and processes are up-to-date and compliant, preparing the department for internal and external audits.

Qualification & Working Experience

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation, Safety Management, Education, or a related field.
• Alternative: Diploma in Aviation, Safety Management, or a related discipline with additional five years of relevant experience.
• Further Alternative: Secondary education with specialized training and at least 10 years of experience in a supervisory safety training role.
• At least five (5) years of aviation experience as a Cabin Safety Instructor or Inspector at a supervisory level.
