Finance - Finance Coordinator - Casablanca

About this role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Coordinator to manage the whole cycle of finance operations for our Moroccan Legal entity in Casablanca. You will be responsible for activities such as bookkeeping (AP, AR, GL), financial and statutory reporting, tax compliance and cash management.
You will make sure the company is fully compliant with all legal and tax requirements according to the Mercantile and Tax laws in Morocco and support internally other departments by explaining and enforcing company’s policies.

Requirements
What will you do?
  • Accounting:
  • Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable (reviewing invoices, managing payment schedules), accounts receivable (issuing invoices, monitoring collections), general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions as per the Moroccan Accounting Principles, maintaining proper documentation and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and perform monthly accounts reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets. Control costs are within budget.
  • Liaise with third parties such as vendors, banks, tax advisors, authorities and others.
  • Tax Compliance:
  • Stay updated with relevant tax laws, regulations, and requirements in Morocco.
  • Prepare and file tax returns in collaboration with our external tax advisor, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized tax records, including supporting documentation.
  • Cash Management:
  • Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure adequate funds for day-to-day operations and future financial obligations.
  • Prepare payments to employees, authorities and vendors.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, including banking activities, cash disbursements, and cash receipts.
  • Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, including fraud prevention measures .

Who you are?
  • Bachelor or graduate degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications are a plus.
  • Min 3 years of work experience in GL accounting.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures, according to local GAAP (IFRS is a plus).
  • Good understanding of Tax laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Used to work in a fast-paced team environment and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of transparency, accountability and honesty.
  • Fluent in French, Arabic and English (written and spoken).
