Under the supervision of the Casablanca Diplomatic Courier Supervisor, the incumbent performs all duties as courier of controlled material/pouches to and from airport or other locations as directed. S/he must interact with, consulate customers, vendors, airline operators, airport officials, host government officials, cargo handling crews, and couriers. Will also interact with many Embassies and Consulates throughout Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Europe.
The incumbent must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a Top Secret security clearance, possess a valid U.S. driver's licence and a diplomatic passport for courier escort duties.
Education: High school diploma is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Basic keyboard skills and computer literacy on a variety of software applications (MS Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
- Must be observant, flexible, and service oriented, and display tact, calmness and courtesy in dealing with unusual and difficult situations.
- Must be able to physically move and lift pouch bags and crates up to 35 lbs. when other assistance is not available.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service. Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
** This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
