About Vi Centra
Worldwide, over 30 million people with diabetes are insulin dependent. This means they need insulin to manage their blood glucose levels. They can either give themselves multiple daily injections, or use an insulin pump, which administers insulin on a continuous basis around the clock.

Our philosophy is all about simplicity, helping to carry some of the weight of day-to-day diabetes management for the user, adding a splash of colour and a whole lot of freedom! Kaleido is one of the smallest insulin pumps in the world. We have 10 colour combinations, from bright and joyful to sleek and chic. We want our users to wear their Kaleido proudly. Its size makes Kaleido discreet and easy to wear, so Kaleidoers can forget about diabetes (for a while, at least!) and focus on what truly matters - living life on their own terms!

Vi Centra was founded in 2013 in the Netherlands, and while we still call Utrecht our home, we’ve now branched out to France and Germany, too. We're gearing up to spread our magic even further, with concrete plans to extend across Europe in 2024. We are CE marked, with in-house development and manufacturing, a state-of-the-art HQ, and a diverse and energetic team hailing from over 30 countries worldwide! The position
We are seeking a continuous improvement engineer to join our vibrant medical device manufacturing organization . As a CI engineer you will be assessing opportunities to improve the overall effectiveness of the production lines, assuming individual processes are in place and managed by the process engineering team. Implementing the aforementioned opportunities end-to-end. Facilitating the adoption of Lean manufacturing principles and attitudes in the production team.

Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Leading and executing continuous improvement projects not directly impacting individual processes managed by the process engineering team (i.e. cleanroom gowning process improvements, optimisation of batch documentation, implementation of kanban systems, gemba walk participation)
  • Facilitating the improvement of OEE by targeting improvements to availability and performance.
  • Facilitating the adoption of Lean manufacturing principles and attitudes in the production team (i.e. coaching) and production processes.
  • Supporting new product/process implementations to ensure Lean/Six Sigma principles/methodologies are adopted early on.
  • Supporting project and process engineering departments with project work as required.
  • Involvement in non-conformance & CAPA processes where related to non-production processes.
  • Creating/revising work instructions and procedures.
  • All work to be undertaken and completed with high level of accuracy and attention to detail within defined timescales.
  • Undertaking tasks as instructed by the Production Manager.
  • Working independently with minimal supervision as well as the ability to work closely with Engineering/Operations/Quality teams.
  • Strict compliance with ISO 13485 through correct and complete use of Quality Controlled Procedures.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Meeting overall business objectives


The ideal candidate to join our team should be energetic, positive and pro-active! You’ll also have:

Required:
  • Proven experience in lean operations or related continuous improvement.
  • Proven project management skills and proficiency in project management tools (i.e. MS Projects).
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting data in meaningful and relevant fashion to aid in decision making process.
  • Experience in following work instructions, processes and SOPs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and GDP
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced


Desirable:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management or related field, or proven ability to understand technical processes.
  • Experience writing/updating documentation (i.e. work instructions).
  • Six Sigma / Lean certification.
  • Previous experience working with ISO 13485 or GMP.
