Team playing, organized governess who naturally enriches the children’s language, academic, and social skills is required. Your main focus is assisting the younger children with their education both through formal lesson plans and providing fun learning through play opportunities indoors and outdoors. The children are in school full-time.
The hours will be approximately 7 - 10 am and 3.30 - 8.30 pm, apart from on a Wednesday when you will do the school pick up at 12. The family will need one babysit per week, the day will vary each week. Occasional weekends and occasional travel might be required.
Your day will start with arranging breakfast, school drop-off, and tidying. You will then be off duty until you collect the children from school. Afternoons include taking them to piano and tennis lessons then returning home to study and for dinner. In general, your focus will be the younger children although being happy to support the eldest with his learning is important. The two youngest children are attending Dutch school (you don’t need to speak Dutch and don’t need to be familiar with the Dutch curriculum). You do need to be happy to teach the children the British curriculum.
The children are friendly, kind, and eager to learn.
Cooking, and laundry in general are not your responsibility as they have a full-time housekeeper (occasionally they may need some help with cooking and laundry if the housekeeper is unavailable). The housekeeper also helps out with the children so being a team player and strong communicator is vital.
This is a busy household both parents work full-time and travel weekly. You must be proactive, a self-starter, and be confident in your job.
Candidates need a teaching degree, extensive teaching experience, and have ideally worked as a governess in other households.
The family lives near Amstel Park. The live-in accommodation will either be in the family home (shared kitchen and bathroom with other staff) or an apartment nearby (the family will confirm the accommodation details during the interviews). If you have accommodation close by the family are happy for you to live out.
Interviews and trial days are happening ASAP.
The minimum commitment required is a year.

• Valid pediatric first aid
• A recent police check or DBS and the DBS update system
• Minimum of 3 verbal and 3 written references.
