A lovely Dutch family is seeking an English-speaking nanny / family assistant, full of fun who is passionate about their job. A nanny who is professional, reliable, punctual, happy to engage in imaginative play, and who genuinely wants to enrich the boy’s childhood. It's a plus if you understand/are familiar with the Dutch language. The house isn’t far from Utrecht or Amersfoort. If you drive there is parking or it’s a two-minute bike ride or ten-minute walk from the station.
They have two boys who will be four and 19 months old in September. The four-year-old will be in school from 8.30 - 14.40 before and after that with the nanny. He loves animals and dinosaurs, he is bright and keen to learn. A nanny who is happy to engage with his curiosity and encourage his passion for learning. His brother is adventurous, very active, and loves music.
This will be the family’s first time hiring a nanny / family assistant. The exact schedule will be agreed upon with the family during the interview process. They are happy to offer 36 hours between Monday - Friday, the focus on Friday would be family assistant duties. In general, the hours will be during the day however someone is happy to help out in the evenings, and an occasional weekend is needed. Flexibility is required for this role, the family will communicate the schedule in advance and agreement with the nanny. The ideal candidate is someone happy to care for the children (that will be the main priority) but also undertake family assistant duties.
A nanny / family assistant confident to manage the dynamics of siblings do school pick ups and drop offs (via walking or bakfiets), and plan fun developmentally appropriate activities for the children. They live in a beautiful forest area a short walk from the town.
The family values integrity, good communication, learning, curiosity, and encouraging the children to be responsible and independent. The boys have a daily routine, the nanny will need to follow.
Duties include standard nursery duties, preparing dinner, keeping the toys organized and tidy, and grocery shopping.
They may ask you to travel with them, but this isn’t a requirement.
They have a regular cleaner.
You will be employed by the family.
To be considered the vital requirements are:

Happy to cycle three-wheeled bakfiets
Minimum of three years of childcare experience including with children aged 19 months - 7 years
Valid pediatric first aid
A recent police check or DBS and the DBS update system
Minimum of 3 verbal and 3 written references.

The initial contract will be six months, however, they would likely want the nanny to commit for at least a year. They are keen to build a strong, collaborative relationship with the nanny.
