We're looking for a dynamic and driven Junior Fermentation & Process Engineer to join our team in developing and optimizing our state-of-the-art fermentation platform. You'll collaborate closely with external partners, like CMOs and CDMOs, to support the scale-up of our innovative processes and produce sustainable, high-quality food ingredients.

You'll be at the forefront of precision fermentation, helping transform how food ingredients are made. You will learn and grow in this position, supporting the team in ensuring our breakthrough products are manufactured efficiently, at scale, and to the highest quality standards.

Pay: €2.700,00 - €3.400,00 per month

We're looking for a dynamic and driven Junior Fermentation & Process Engineer to join our team in developing and optimizing our state-of-the-art fermentation platform. You'll collaborate closely with external partners, like CMOs and CDMOs, to support the scale-up of our innovative processes and produce sustainable, high-quality food ingredients.
What You'll Do:
- Support the design and development of fermentation and downstream processing protocols in collaboration with senior engineers and external partners.
- Assist with implementing, optimizing, and scaling processes with CMOs and CDMOs.
- Contribute to the scale-up from R&D to production by monitoring and reporting on progress.
- Help troubleshoot and support continuous improvements in manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards under guidance.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Work closely with R&D to help transition product innovations into scalable production.
- Maintain technical documentation and process reports to support transitions and handovers.
- Bachelor's degree (BSc) or Master’s degree (MSc) in Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Some hands-on experience (1-2 years) in industrial fermentation and downstream processing; internships or academic research experience also considered.
- Familiarity with bioreactor operations, purification techniques, and scale-up processes.
- Ability to assist in troubleshooting and process optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, working with guidance from senior engineers.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to both technical teams and non-experts.
