Requirements

• Minimum of a Master’s Degree (Hons) in the subject of Geography or History
• For applicants from the UK, A completed PGCE, and QTS plus successful completion of the NQT induction year
• Fully qualified teacher status for Secondary Education in the country the qualification is obtained. Your teaching qualification must meet the standards required by the Dutch Education Authorities (DUO) (First-degree teaching/ Eerste graads)
• Excellent command of the English language (C1 proficiency)
• Living in the Netherlands (with work permit)

Recommendations

• Experience in teaching the age group 11-18
• Experience meeting the individual needs of students
• Experience working with EAL students
• Experience of international or intercultural education
• Good ICT skills and an understanding of ICT use in an educational context
• Experience teaching Geography/History to EB, IB, or GCE A levels
• Willingness to be involved in extra-curricular activities
• Knowledge of other EU languages is an advantage

• An appointment based on the Dutch teachers' collective labour agreement for secondary education (CAO VO) on the relevant pay scale. The specific step in the scale depends on relevant background and experience
