Vehicle ego motion correction in ADAS and AD applications

We also created and maintain the NXP Showroom in Eindhoven, which showcases all the latest NXP innovations to visitors of our headquarters.
With this graduation project, NXP Semiconductors seeks to investigate the vehicle ego motion correction function in Autonomous Driving Applications. In Autonomous Driving applications, the sensing and understanding of the world around the vehicle is critical to plan for the next action based on predefined conditions. A perception module is one part of it, that takes in various sensor data as input to detect obstacles around the EGO vehicle.
The student assignment requires to perform a high-level as well as an in-depth analysis of the role of ego motion correction, and dive specifically into the details of object detection while accounting for the dynamic motion behavior of both the detectable objects, as well as the ego vehicle. Based on the results, the student will derive conclusions regarding important aspects that play a role for an ADAS and AD system, and provide recommendations on methods to account for dynamic vehicle behavior.
