We currently have a unique opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant to help develop and deliver a variety of approaches with an emphasis on providing clients and whānau with support around ‘what matters to them’. Our aim is to provide responsive and flexible services, to assist people to get well and stay well at home. To enable this type of service, you may be required to work with our clients and whānau outside of standard office hours, including weekend work. There will also be a requirement to work across, or be based, in various clinical locations, visiting clients around the community, and in associated facilities.
Your mahi will include but is not limited to, assisting Community Allied Health Service clinicians on client home visits, equipment delivery and installation, carrying out rehabilitation programmes and supporting clients to achieve their desired goals, this may include essential daily tasks such as personal cares and meal preparation.
This role is covered by the PSA Allied Public Health, Scientific and Technical Collective Agreement. Salary range for this position is $72,074 to $86,719 (full-time equivalent).

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

  • An understanding or willingness to learn about te reo Māori and tikanga Māori
  • Good communicator, who easily builds rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Basic computer and IT skills
  • Basic clinical documentation skills
  • Previous Allied Health Assistant or Health Care Assistant work or other relevant work experience is essential
  • A full driver’s licence (manual and automatic) is essential
