The Role:-
We're looking for an Analytical Technologist to join our Hokitika based Quality team, working in our Analytical Science Lab and reporting directly to our Principal Scientist.
Key Responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating method validation and transfer
• The efficient and accurate sampling, testing and recoding of findings
• Monitoring test results for compliance to specification and escalating non-complying results
• Assisting with the continual improvement of procedures, reporting and issue resolutions
• Supporting the analytical scientist with the implementation of new methods
• Providing support to the laboratory staff in training to maintain 17025 accreditation
• Ensuring the accurate calibration of test equipment

Key preferred attributes for the role include:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Science (analytical chemistry etc)
• Experience and knowledge of analytical tests and techniques (e.g. HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS and ICP-MS)
• An understanding of ISO 17025, 14001, 22000, RMP is desirable
• Key Technical Person "KTP" status or the ability and desire to work to achieve KTP status within 12-24 months of obtaining the position
• The ability to interpret and action detailed methods
• The ability to diagnose and fix mechanical problems with testing equipment
• Good Microsoft Office skills (across the suite) with excellent written and verbal communication ability
• Flexibility and adaptability together with the ability to work under pressure and be responsive to organisational contingencies as they arise
