Mō te Pakihi | About the Company:

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
As the Brand and Communications Manager, you play a pivotal role in enhancing our visibility and reputation in the market. Working with our science leaders, you will develop targeted marketing and communications strategies and campaigns to connect our stakeholders to our areas of expertise. As a proven leader you will be able to demonstrate your experience in leading and developing high performing teams, as well as successful collaborations with senior management and diverse stakeholders, including Māori communities.
If you're ready to make an impact and drive our brand forward, we want to hear from you! Join us in showcasing the incredible work we do and shaping the future together. Apply now!
This is a full-time position based at our Lincoln site, reporting directly to the General Manager of Development.
Ō pūmanawa | About you
You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification, ideally at the postgraduate level, complemented by significant job-based training and experience. With over 10 years in senior marketing roles, you will demonstrate a strong track record in developing and delivering effective B2B marketing and communications strategies. Ideally, you will possess an understanding of the role that science and innovation plays in lifting environmental, social and economic outcomes, and can articulate a value proposition that will resonate with our partners and stakeholder to drive shared benefits. You will be adept at designing and implementing marketing and communications strategies, campaigns and tactics to drive brand awareness and convert new opportunities in our services in established and new markets.
Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou | What we offer
As an employee of Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research, you will work with passionate and talented people and enjoy supportive employee benefits such as an annual leave entitlement of 4 weeks and 4 days, generous sick leave, paid parental leave, 3 paid Manaaki Whenua days between Christmas and New Year, as well as income maintenance and life insurance benefits and flexible working options. You will also have the opportunity for personal growth and career development. While our main office is based at Lincoln, we do support a flexible working environment, with requests for both informal and formal flexible work arrangements given due consideration.
If you don't meet every requirement in this position description, please don't exclude yourself. Studies indicate that women and other individuals from under-represented groups often only apply when they satisfy all the criteria. We focus on recruiting individuals who share our core values of Manaaki Tangata (caring, partnering, common purpose) and Science that Delivers (excellence, relevance, integrity), rather than merely ticking boxes. If this resonates with you, we encourage you to submit your application.
Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research is committed to developing a diverse, inclusive, equitable workplace where people feel they belong. We believe this is the right thing to do, but we also believe it is a worthwhile commitment that makes our organisation stronger and more capable through building on our diversity of thinking, enabling us to better understand the needs of our stakeholders and people and respond effectively to them. An inclusive environment means the diverse perspectives we have are more likely to be expressed, heard, and acted on.
