Job Description
This includes spearheading all commercial engagements, including but not limited to Roadway and Infrastructure projects.
You will be responsible for the growth and development of new business by engaging new clients through referrals, cold calling, and various innovative strategies. This position is critical to ensuring the continued growth and success of the organisation, as well as creating genuine partnerships with future clients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with Electrical Contractors, Councils, and End-Users to make Schréder products their preferred choice.
- Identify new opportunities and projects to meet company growth targets.
- Generate sufficient demand activities to achieve targets.
- Convey appropriate messages to senior decision-makers like CEOs, General Managers, and Managing Directors.
- Work with channel partners/Wholesalers to manage and support key sector contractors.
- Maintain strong relationships with major and second-tier customers to ensure high service levels.
- Implement sales and marketing strategies to maximize growth and ensure procedural effectiveness.
- Execute sales and product strategies as directed by the Commercial Manager.
- Develop and enhance sales opportunities for sustainable and profitable growth.
- Adapt to regional travel and occasional evening lighting audits as part of the role.
- Proactively identify new opportunities and clients across all lighting projects.
- Liaise with the internal Customer Solutions team for local and national marketing alignment.
- Monitor, track, and secure project opportunities to achieve quarterly budgets.
- Manage a healthy customer pipeline with accurate records of meetings, needs, and contacts.
- Ensure all sales documents are accurate and delivered on time, addressing client pain points.
- Prepare contract tender documents and quotations as needed.
- Capture all data within the CRM framework, ensuring relevance and accuracy.
- Be involved in all activities related to lighting projects in NZ, including forecasting, new product development, business plans, presentations, and trade shows.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial Lighting sales market.
- Strong understanding of lighting controls, driver technology, and technical characteristics in lighting.
- Relevant industry experience and sound knowledge.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand without any restrictions.
- Qualification in Lighting (Design, Engineering or similar)
- Professional certifications in sales, business development, or project management (e.g., Certified Sales Professional (CSP), Project Management Professional (PMP))
- Strong deal-closing and negotiation abilities.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in communication, presentation, and listening skills.
- In-depth understanding of the NZ market and key players.
- Excellent verbal and written communication for client and team engagement.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Skilled at identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities.
- Strong organisational skills for managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Skilled in leveraging professional networks for leads and referrals.
- Knowledge of the lighting industry and smart city applications.
- Proficient in using CRM software for client interactions.
