Position: Mobile Cafe Manager
Location: Mount Maunganui Waterfront
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mobile Cafe Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our multi site hospitality businesses located on the scenic waterfront of Mount Maunganui and Omanu. The ideal candidate will work closely with the owners to ensure efficient management and high-quality service, as well as lead a team of 5-12 staff members, depending on the season.
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the mobile cafe, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
• Maintain accurate records for food handling, inventory, income and expenses, meal counts, and personnel.
• Ensure all staff adhere to sanitation and food safety standards.
• Manage, train, and mentor staff, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
• Prepare and serve food in accordance with established quality standards.
• Supervise barista operations; barista experience is essential.
• Develop and manage staff rosters based on business needs and operational demands.
• Monitor quality control, minimize waste, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Conduct monthly performance reviews and assess team progress against business targets.
• Oversee the hiring, training, and ongoing development of new staff.

Qualifications:

• Management and hospitality experience is essential.
• Proven experience in food service, particularly in a mobile food truck environment.
• Barista experience is esssential.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions and on weekends, as the nature of the business is weather-dependent.
• Ability to legally work in New Zealand and reside locally, as the position includes on-call hours.

We aim to provide a 40-hour work week; however, hours may fluctuate depending on operational needs.
