Salary: Starting salary is $123,396 NZD per annum with the possibility of up to $133,973 NZD based on an assessment of skills and experience at the interview stage

The Campaign Strategist will play a crucial role in leading and shaping our global campaigns to protect animals and influence change. This role involves providing strategic facilitation and global oversight and alignment in the implementation of high-impact campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences and key stakeholders, driving forward our mission. You will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of campaigns—from concept to execution—while working closely with international and country teams and external stakeholders to ensure the campaigns are strategically aligned with our organisational goals and vision.
Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, creativity, and a deep understanding of the political, social, and economic factors that influence animal welfare issues. We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in campaign development, stakeholder engagement, and public mobilisation. Strong project management skills, the ability to work collaboratively with global teams, and excellent communication abilities are essential. A passion for animal welfare, the ability to navigate complex, global issues, and the ability to translate external changes into strategic opportunities with confidence and agility are highly desirable.

World Animal Protection is the global voice for animal welfare, with more than 70 years’ experience campaigning for a world where animals live free from cruelty and suffering.
We have offices in 14 countries and work across 47 countries. We collaborate with local communities, the private sector, civil society and governments to change animals’ lives for the better.
