Leading the way in Surgical Elective Surgery - Manukau Surgery Centre
We are seeking an enthusiastic experienced nurse to work as a Clinical Resource Nurse at Manukau Health Park (MHP). This facility provides the majority of Counties Manukau elective surgery. The role predominately covers the two elective wards at MHP. The first floor is orthopaedic, plastic and hand surgery. The second floor is general surgical with gynaecology, otorhinolaryngology and urology. Both wards are supported by a four bedded high level Peri Operative Care Unit (PCU). Responsibilities of the role include staffing allocations, assessing patient conditions and liaising with a multi-disciplinary team across the wards. You need to be clinically astute, a good communicator, proactive and have excellent assessment skills particularly around the management of unstable patients.
While this role predominantly focuses on the wards, as the Clinical Resource Nurse you will provide after hours (afternoons, nights and weekends) senior nurse leadership and clinical expertise across the whole health park including the management of emergency situations. There will be instances where the patient may need to be safely transferred to Middlemore Hospital Emergency Department to be assessed for a higher level of care.
Ideally you will hold an intensive care or high dependency qualification or have an emergency care background and have completed post graduate papers in your areas of speciality.
