Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for providing excellent project coordination and administrative support as it relates to the Communications and Marketing functions of BLVNZ. This is a great role for someone looking to start their career in Communications or Marketing and the successful role holder will be supported to explore and develop this further.

Reporting to the Head of Communications, working closely with colleagues across the Engagement and Marketing Department (Fundraising, Philanthropy, Community Engagement, Policy and Advocacy and Marketing & Communications), and with colleagues across the organisation, the role holder will play a key role in owning and ensuring that all Communications & Marketing administrative processes for the team are implemented, maintained, and efficiencies identified and improved.

You will build and maintain solid relationships with, staff, volunteers, members of the blind, low vision and deafblind communities, agencies and suppliers; playing a key role in achieving the wider Engagement and Marketing Department engagement objectives.

To enable you to hit the ground running, we are looking for someone with:

  • 3 years strong administration experience.
  • Capability to develop effective systems and processes.
  • Excellent and confident written and verbal communication skills
  • An ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable time management skills and ability to determine priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using CRM Systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • High level of organisation and planning skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to show initiative.
  • Focus on Results – solutions focused, outcomes focused.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Enjoys multi-tasking and problem solving.

It would also be beneficial, but not essential, to have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Basic design experience
  • Basic Content Management System experience
  • Project or event management administration experience
  • Experience working in a Communications and/or Marketing environment
  • Experience working with suppliers and/or third party stakeholders
  • Experience in Salesforce, or a similar CRM
  • Sensitivity to, and willingness to develop, an understanding of Blind Low Vision NZ issues
