About Us:
The Hapū Authority Trust (Te Piringa Hapū) was established in 2019 with a dedication to advancing the wellbeing of Ngāti Hinemanu, Ngāi Te Upokoiri, Ngāti Mahuika, and Ngāti Honomokai by promoting social, cultural, and economic prosperity in Aotearoa through initiatives in education, cultural enrichment, finance, housing, employment, and advocacy. Following the 2022 extreme weather events, we developed a 10-year Cyclone Recovery Plan with priorities in Environmental, Cultural, Social, and Economic areas. Specifically, our Cultural workstream focuses on establishing Te Ahikō | Te Puna Mātauranga o Piringa Hapū, a hapū archive, to secure and preserve our mātauranga, culture, history, and genealogy.
Join us in our mission to secure and celebrate the rich heritage of Te Piringa Hapū for generations to come. Apply now!
All applicants must have a valid New Zealand residency or work visa.
