We are looking for a compassionate and resilient individual to join our team as a Community Health Worker in Palmerston North. This is an exciting opportunity to work with whānau in a community-based environment, providing practical support and advice
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Your role will involve home and or clinic visits, working alongside whanau to ensure they have the support they need to raise healthy tamariki.
This role offers flexibility, with 4 full days of work per week(with Wednesdays being fixed). You will work across Palmerston North, alongside a supportive team of Plunket Nurses and Kaiawhina. The families you work with are diverse, and often face complex challenges, so we are looking for someone who can work autonomously and with emotional maturity, while being able to connect with people from all walks of life.
He kōrero mōu | About You
Raising Tamariki at this stage in life is fairly demanding for the whānau we work alongside with. Our Health Worker needs to be warm and engagingand able to connect with a diverse range of clients. You’ll be confident communicating information and able to adapt the messages depending on your audience.
You will be eager to learn and grow, and have the resilience required to work on your own in a community setting.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting whānau and has a genuine interest in community health. While experience in community-based organisations or early childhood education is a plus, we are open to applicants from all backgrounds.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:
- The right to work in Aotearoa
- A restricted or full driver’s license (you’ll be provided with a company car to travel around Palmerston North)
