Who we are
We are Family!
The Comfort Group is Australasia’s largest bedding and foam manufacturer, operating across seven factories nationally in New Zealand and internationally in Australia. We employ over 1,000 people across both countries. We’re a company that cares immensely about our people.
For over 85 years, The Comfort Group has been dedicated to helping New Zealanders get a good night’s rest. 100% Kiwi owned and operated, we provide local jobs and invest in the local community.
The Opportunity
In our dynamic and complex systems environment, we are focused on reducing our dependency on multiple legacy systems through strategic investments in modernization and replacement initiatives. Our mission is to create resilient, scalable platforms that foster digital innovation, enhance customer interactions, and drive operational efficiency.
We embrace a modern software development approach, with strong Agile practices and Scrum as our delivery framework within development squads.
The Developer role is crucial to this transformation, utilizing their extensive expertise to design, develop, and support key backend functionalities, including APIs and integrations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that our applications are robust, high-performing, and capable of supporting our drive toward world-class digital capabilities and operational excellence. As well as:
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and squad members to design and develop high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Contribute actively towards achieving squad goals, operating within a self-organizing unit.
  • Participate meaningfully in all Scrum ceremonies, adhering to the quality and sustainability standards set by your Squad, Chapter, and Department.
  • Ensure that all documentation related to the solutions you develop is accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive.
  • Provide Level 3 (L3) support for the products managed by your squad, with a focus on designing solutions that minimize the need for L3 support.
    • Collaborate with your squad to reduce the need for Level 2 (L2) support through effective design and development practices.
  • Conduct thorough systems analysis, including researching, consulting, and evaluating system needs, ensuring a clear, shared understanding of issues before pursuing solutions.
  • Develop and execute robust test plans, processes, and procedures. Perform testing, debugging, and fault correction for squad-supported applications, and build out test automation in line with established protocols, guidelines, and quality standards to meet performance requirements.
  • Write and maintain application code in alignment with system requirements, designs, and technical specifications, following the Development Chapter’s standards.
  • Ensure that all developed code and applications adhere to industry-standard security best practices, particularly the OWASP Top 10.
  • Enhance and develop automated software and application deployments, continuously improving CI/CD processes using Multi-stage Build Pipelines and maintaining all code repositories.
About You
We are looking for someone who is proactive, takes ownership in their work and demonstrates personal integrity and is passionate about software development and has a proven track record of delivering high-quality code. As well as
  • Broad and deep .Net development experience with C#

  • A good understanding of modern software delivery methodologies, product & project management principles and a history of successful delivery using these
  • Organised, structured, self-sufficient and self-managed in carrying out duties
