Digital ICT Project Manager
Te Tūranga - The Role
As Tait Communications goes into a period of growth, our ICT department is expanding, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Digital and ICT Project Manager. Within the newly established Project Services Team, this new role will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering a wide variety of projects across the business. The projects will vary between internal and external customers on a wide range of services and platforms. You will also contribute to the growth and development of the project services team, business backlogs, project management frameworks and more under an agile and incremental improvement philosophy.
The duties of the role will include:
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
  • Write business cases that align with good practice.
  • Ability to evaluate, streamline and make recommendations on business processes.
  • Build and manage project budgets and resource plans.
  • Present oral and written reports defining plans, issues, risks, status, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.
  • Develop a fit-for-purpose project management methodology and ensure projects are delivered in line with it.
  • Manage project risks and dependencies and implement mitigation plans where necessary.
  • Develop and implement change control processes to ensure changes are managed effectively.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete and up to date, and that lessons learned are captured and applied to future projects.
  • Develop and implement a value management framework for the Digital and ICT projects.
  • Identify and manage project interdependencies, ensuring delivery is integrated across the business.
Reporting to the Digital and ICT Programme Manager, this project manager role will be responsible for delivering real improvements in business systems, services and platforms to Tait staff, stakeholders, and customers.

To be successful in this role, you will have strong project management skills, including project design and planning, report and proposal writing, budget planning, risk management and conflict resolution, with experience in managing multiple projects and priorities and strong leadership skills working in cross-functional teams. You will excel in stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at a senior level.
As well as:
  • A tertiary qualification in ICT/IS, or a related field.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience in ICT project and programme management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
  • A strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with a focus on delivering results.
  • PRINCE2 and Agile certifications are highly desirable.
