Contract: Permanent part time roles (0.6 - 0.9 FTE) rostered & rotating including weekends & nights
Salary: NZNO DSN Scale Grade 3 Step 1-3/$122,086 - $133,902 (pro rata)
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Duty Nurse Manager (DNM) is part of our committed IOC team - specialising in hospital flow, resource utilisation and clinical support. The DNM has delegated responsibility for the after-hours operational management of our hospital services, including crisis management. This is an exceptional opportunity to support the safe and efficient running of the hospital whilst providing positive leadership and support for staff.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
The Integrated Operations Centre (IOC), provides a comprehensive support service which comprises of Duty Nurse Managers, the Variance Response team, Allocation and Casual staff, Transit Nurses, National Travel Assistance and the Transit Hub. We utilise capacity and acuity tools such as Trend Care, Caa G, Capplan and support programs such as Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM). In normal working hours the IOC supports the directorates to meet their targets and plans, and after hours holds the delegated authority of the directorates to ensure the best possible use of resources and processes. We are a dedicated and supportive team who collectively strive to achieve best patient, whānau and staff outcomes.
Moū - About you
You will be a positive and hardworking Registered Nurse with a can-do attitude and a minimum of 4 years nursing experience in a variety of clinical settings, including acute care and critical situation management. Comprehensive knowledge of the New Zealand health system and processes is essential. You must be a critical thinker who can apply their clinical knowledge to ensuring the best possible patient flow and staffing decisions are made - often in challenging circumstances. It is essential that you are a superb communicator with the ability to remain calm and lead positively under pressure. A desire to support the practice and decision-making of others is imperative.
Required qualifications, experience and knowledge:
  • RN Practising Certificate
  • Post Graduate qualification
  • Proven leadership and management capability
  • Understands the significance and obligations of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and supports leadership of these within the service
  • Attainment and maintenance of Senior PDRP
