ECE Kaiako - Te Atatū Peninsula Kindergarten

FULL TIME & PART TIME

November 13, 2024

Join Our Whānau at Te Atatū Peninsula Kindergarten
Te Atatū Peninsula Kindergarten, part of Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA), a vibrant and inclusive learning environment, is seeking a dedicated ECE Kaiako to join our team in a part time role (20-hour Monday-Friday). We're looking for someone who shares our commitment to play-based learning, environmental sustainability, and fostering strong relationships with tamariki and whānau.

About Us:
  • A Unique Setting: Our kindergarten boasts beautiful outdoor spaces, perfect for exploration and play.
  • Strong Community Ties: We are deeply connected to the local community, with a focus on building strong relationships with whānau. We regularly explore our local community and invite our community into our kindergarten.
  • Bicultural Practice: We celebrate Te Tiriti o Waitangi and incorporate Māori culture into our curriculum.
  • Programme: Our programme is based around free play. Tamariki are encouraged to be creative and active learners and to make their own choices. We have a strong commitment to supporting social development and self-regulation.

As an ECE Kaiako, you will:
  • Inspire Young Minds: Create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for tamariki.
  • Foster Relationships: Build strong bonds with tamariki and whānau, creating a sense of belonging.
  • Embrace Biculturalism/Multiculturalism: Integrate Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori into daily practices and work with diverse communities.
  • Champion Sustainability: Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Work as part of a dedicated team to achieve shared goals.

The ideal candidate is a registered and certified early childhood educator with a current first aid certificate. You'll be passionate about play-based learning and child-centred approaches, with a strong commitment to Te Whāriki and multicultural practices.
We're looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can build strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues. Your ability to plan, assess, and document children's learning is essential, as is your enthusiasm and flexibility as a team player.
A passion for sustainability and environmental education is a bonus. If you're ready to make a positive impact on young lives, we encourage you to apply.

To Apply:
If you're passionate about early childhood education and ready to join our team, please submit your application.
Applications close 29th November 2024 (unless filled prior)
We encourage anyone interested in applying to visit our Kindergarten (please call ahead). To find out more about Te Atatū Peninsula Kindergarten, please visit the AKA website.
You must have the legal right to live and work permanently in New Zealand to be considered for this position.
Though it is no longer mandatory, the AKA continues to encourage its people to be fully vaccinated from the COVID-19 virus.
