Are you passionate about aviation design and engineering? Do you have a strong background in Equipment Design and integration? Join our dynamic Design & Integration Team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge design solutions for military and commercial programs.
As a Design & Integration Engineer you will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions for airframe equipment and overseeing associated equipment integration activities. Your work will align with customer, regulatory, and Airbus Australia Pacific (AAP) requirements, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver design solutions using a systems engineering design philosophy, in line with your Engineering Authority.
  • Create, review, approve, and manage engineering tasks, including providing advice, repairs, and modifications within your authorized scope.
  • Develop and approve engineering advice and instructions for continued airworthiness, in accordance with your delegated Engineering Authority.
  • Maintain accurate data files, engineering records, and electronic databases to report and record engineering decisions.
  • Comply with relevant quality and engineering plans, processes, and procedures, including Quality Management System and Engineering Management System.
  • Actively participate in improving the Engineering Management System and the functional discipline within Airbus.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline from a nationally accredited program or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain DE2 level of Engineering Authority within Design Engineering.
  • Fundamental knowledge and application of Catia V5 (or similar) for part, assembly, and drawing creation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a design engineer in the aviation industry.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations (e.g., DASR, CAANZ, CASA), standards, and best practices in your field of expertise.
  • Capacity for self-directed task management in a high workload environment and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships and manage conflicting priorities within a matrix organization.
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles and ability to develop system requirements specifications.

  • Confident communicator with the ability to convey messages clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to junior professionals or technicians.
